Absolutely this should have been communicated to you and ideally would've been discussed with your wife at prenatal visits. I would let someone know when you do get in or when you guys fill out the survey regarding her admission how that went down. Good communication is critical for dispelling fear among persons going in to hospitals for treatment any time and especially with what is going on right now.

I just checked our local hospital and they are allowing one support person for maternity. This is in Alabama.
OP's wife doesn't want him in there.

Each hospital is different. Some allow visitors in certain situations, some are not allowing any visitors at all...no matter the situation

If Woman’s Hospital does this shite to me in late summer when my wife is due I’m getting arrested. That is pure bullshite. The father deserves to be there if he doesn’t have symptoms.

My hospital is currently telling us one support person is allowed for L&D and no visitors afterward. I hadn’t heard anything about making the support person wait in the parking lot when it’s time, and because every hospital is different I thought I’d ask, on the off-chance it was one in my area. But I totally understand not wanting to divulge that information. It was a long-shot! We are about 3 weeks out, so I’ll check with the hospital when we are getting close to see what the updated protocols are, since things seem to change often.

I'm gonna lay odds that once a diagnosis of labor is established, they will contact the ole boy and shepherd him right in and all will be better. And I sincerely hope that's how it goes.

Congrats. They will. When we went into the hospital last week there were security guards with guns stationed at all thr entrances while people were screened.

Things change very quickly. I know my hospital has been putting any visitor changes on their web page accessible to the public. We have a section dedicated to COVID information only.
Maybe your hospital has done the same? Good luck and hope everything goes ok!
