I don't know the first thing about them, but my anecdotal experience is my high school best friend's dad had one called Big Easy Daiquiris located in The Wharf in Orange Beach, which is a heavily trafficked place. Or was at the time at least.

It was a full bar with mixed drinks and beers and I think even live music and a view of the bay, from what I remember.

I think he closed after 2(?) years. So make of that what you will.

The only advice I can offer is if your wife starts talking about all the big tips she’s getting you need to verify what exactly she means. I found out the hard way my girlfriend was talking about penis tips and then claimed I couldn’t be mad because she had been honest about it from the beginning

Just to name a few. It's the late nights. Employees stealing/giving away alcohol. The toll it takes on your family life.

Without to-go or drive-thru, I don't see how a standalone place could make it, honestly.

If you can’t have a drive thru then you’d basically be operating a bar. The business itself isn’t bad but hiring and retaining low-wage workers can be difficult...especially workers willing to put up with a bunch of drunk rednecks for low pay. So unless you and your wife are willing to actually work the bar I’d recommend not doing it.

Yeah, I always took that to mean its hard work because you're essentially going back to living the bar fly lifestyle. I suppose if you already somewhat live that lifestyle and don't have or want kids, its a different story.

Good good money. Has worked for my in laws the last 20 yrs. Have to have good mixes and solid employees.

Just saw you are not talking about in LA. That hurts because a huge chunk of their income comes from poker machines. Still good money. Daiquiri’s cost nothing to make but machines are expensive and maintenance on them is a pain in the arse.

Had a friend of a friend open one that was supposed to be a “higher end” shop with tables and no drive through. Almost like a sports bar style daiquiri shop. He put in a drive through window within 6 months.

That’s all I can contribute
