What if I told you that's just about all they used to play at Bogies.

Well...them, Phish and string cheese of course.

I’m going to have to jump on Spotify after work to see if I can find a song I know.

You won’t have any luck with this. They are a jam band/southern rock band. There songs don’t make it on the radio unless you listen to jam on on Sirius.

They are a good band but they will not appeal to the masses.

I've heard of them but I'm pretty sure they're a 'jam band' so I don't think I've ever listened to their music.

Why not have a sludge reunion?

Get Down, Eyehategod, Soilent Green, Acid Bath, etc to play. Local acts that would blend in well with the Jazz Fest crowd.

I can understand not liking and not knowing any Widespread Panic music. Actually, the large majority of people certainly couldn't name a WSP song. Hell the large majority of people probably wouldn't recognize any particular WSP song.

But that's totally different from not having heard of WSP at all.
I've never heard of them outside this website.

No, if you haven't heard of Uncle Dave Macon you aren't as Southern as you think you are

You can be the Southernest person ever w/o having heard of druggie noodlers.

All of the songs from the early albums are so fricking good. C. Brown. Proving Ground. Space Wrangler. I'm not alone. Thanks for the thread op, I'm going to listen to some too.

Weirdo

My wife thinks it's weird too. I probably haven't turned on music in my truck since the last road trip I took in November. Yet I still pay for Sirius every month because I keep forgetting to call and cancel and it's nice when traveling

Here's a good one for anybody who hasn't heard of them.
Most people I've shown them to don't really get it, but some do. They are like the Grateful Dead. One buddy of mine is going on a road trip with me this summer through the southeast so we can see them. So he's one person I've shown that likes them, though not as much as I.
