Why weren’t there any guns in the Harry Potter stories?

Seems to me like it’d be incredibly difficult to stop a bullet even if you had magical powers. Haven’t seen any witch or wizard be able to conjure up a spell quick enough to stop a bullet.

No I haven’t smoked any marijuanas.

They aren't allowed in England baw. Voldemort would have been fish food in West Virginia about 5 minutes into the movie.

A 240B would make mince meat of those queer little magic folks.

Im about to jump off the dork deep end here, but a powerful wizard could effectively make a force field around himself and stop all bullets while at the same time dish out any spell he wanted to in order to disarm, disable, or kill his attackers.

A properly trained wizard could render guns useless

bullshite, not if the man with the gun pulled first. Or a sniper put a well placed round down range.

In the stories, it's made clear that the "incantations" aren't necessary; inexperienced wizards use them to focus the mind. More advanced wizards can fire off spells as quickly as they can think. If the wizard saw you draw, you would be dead where you stood before you could pull the trigger. If the wizard couldn't see you...

Then you've probably got a dead wizard. But considering there are spells that can silently and instantly kill someone, I can't conceive of why a wizard would ever choose to use a firearm in the alternative.

Don’t think you can think quicker than a bullet can fly.

They also placed charms on their dwellings and property that made muggle things go haywire. Electricity and shite like that just didn’t work, no reason she couldn’t retcon gunpowder to be nonfunctional. JK likes to retcon shite.
