the other plane was (its assumed) heading to the capital bldg or the white house.

i heard it was later reported from the voice recordings taken from the pentagon plane that they intended to fly into the capital bldg but got lost and chose the pentagon instead, as a backup target, since they could see it and recognized it

The primary targets in DC were the Capitol, and the White House. The hijackers on Flight 77 couldn't find the White House so they went on to the secondary target of the Pentagon. Flight 93 was supposed to target the Capitol, but the actions of the brave passengers and crew prevented that from happening.

I've always been surprised that the Statue of Liberty wasn't a target as well. I suppose there wouldn't be that many casualties is why.

You have to remember, the hijackers had very little piot training. They needed easy to see and easy to get to targets. The WTC towers being the tallest building in Manhattan, and near the southern tip, made them stand out like a sore thumb.

They were easy to see from a distance, which gave the hijackers a long time to line up on them. They didn't have a lot of buildings around them to manuever around, and they had height, so they didn't have to dive on them.

The capitol was another easy target...line up on the Washington Monument and fly down the mall, then dive into it.

It was never in DC. Flight path shows it targeted only the pentagon.

I’d be careful fellas ... Darth is a conspiracy guy so there’s a reason he’s asking this. Many of his buddies don’t believe a plane hit the Pentagon if you read the Q thread. Proceed with caution....

It's crazy to me that you would even have to ask this question

The size of the pentagon prob had something to do with. I’d imagine for an amateurish pilot it would be much easier to hit the pentagon then a football stadium or even the White House. Much more room for error

If I had been sitting down to make a list of things to fly planes into the WTC towers would not have been on the list. The Pentagon definitely would have been. Not hard to understand why they chose it.

Really? Think about the damage and overall terror that was caused by the planes hitting the WTC vs. the Pentagon.

I mean it's kinda the head of all our military operations. Lots of high ranking military officials work there every day. If you were trying to make a statement, then killing lots of military head honchos kind of makes sense. They probably didn't think they would kill them all,but get a few bigwigs kinda does make a statement.

It's not that hard to come up with even more reasons why. Even if it was a secondary target, it still sends a pretty clear message.

It was the equivalent of sending a few tomahawks into indentifed training camps and manufacturing in Africa and Afghanistan.

Not going to kill everyone. But it makes a muck of things.

operation infinite reach

The area hit at the Pentagon housed the same financial information that was destroyed in WTC7.

The evidence for a massive SEC investigation into investment fraud, along with 2.3 billion in unaccounted black-budget spending was all destroyed on 911.

Supposedly the White House was the primary target but they couldn't find it. Believe it or not, the WH is hard to identify from the air unless you know exactly where to look.

I’ve always thought they hit the first tower high, hoping it would topple into the other tower, thus taking both out with one plane.
