Can't find a bag of Chili Cheese Frito's at Rouses. I had to run to the Arab store to snag a couple.
May need to use these to barter for some TP when the economy crashes.

Corn being diverted for ethanol production
Not the reason. I found some weird flavored ones and there’s ton of flavors of Doritos and Tostitos. It’s only plain Fritos.

What I have learned from this thread is that the reason there is a Frito shortage is because of
- The government
- Corn being diverted for ethanol production
- Workers on strike because they refuse to get vaccine
- There was a fire at a Frito plant
- Frito is focusing on their more popular products.
So which one is it?

I posted this in a thread last week. We did get some in today. Not much though
There was a plant in Topeka that was on strike during the summer but issue has been resolved.
It’s a slow process to make Fritos. Fritos production is always ramped up every August and September to prepare for the frito weather. But this year the plants were so behind on keeping up with product supply that they couldn’t dedicate that extra time for Fritos. And here we are with no Fritos.

When people run out of Fritos for their 7 layer dip, I use whatever chip they have and use my finger as a backing. My finger becomes the backbone as I push the fragile chip through the dip. You just lick your fingers clean and repeat
That’s like sticking your entire face in the dip.

Fairly sure I saw Fritos in Nor-Joes this afternoon. (Metry)

Agreed- This is total BS.
Trader Joe’s has their own brand of scoop style corn chips and plenty in stock when I was there yesterday. Trust me…I would prefer the original, but these will do in a pinch for chili etc.
Happy Holidays all.

Was also looking for scoops today and no luck.
Has anyone found them on the northshore?

I’m not sure but I had to eat chili last night with Ritz crackers and it made me angry.

Sorry that they don’t have any party size and I am, in fact, bringing them to a party so that people can use a chip that can withstand the rigor of a thicc dip.
I’m not hoarding them, I’m buying them so we can eat them Saturday.
