This is particularly noticeable in Louisiana. Church, weddings, Thanksgiving, whatever, these guys wear a hat (usually mesh trucker style with neon collars) at all times. It takes 30 seconds to comb your damn hair, be an adult.

Because some people like wearing them, I suppose. I don't believe this is common practice exclusively within the poor and/or redneck community, though.

I would guess at least 75% of td posters wear some type of hat at all times. I don't but I'm always in the minority regarding hats.

I have always worn hats. I don't wear them at fancier events though. Sunglasses annoy me, so I only wear them at the beach or fishing. Hats do the job

Depends on the restaurant....Chilling watching the game at a wing place I usually have a hat. I would feel uncomfortable as hell in even a slightly nice restaurant with a hat.
A friend of mine was once dating this dude and brought him a to a group dinner at a fried seafood place that had paper towel rolls on the table. He lost his shite because I was wearing a hat. I just
went about my business and he literally stormed out for a second. They didn't last much longer
