There has been civil war in the Yemen raging for several years between 3 factions:
The internationally recognized government backed by Saudi Arabia who control the south and east portions of the nation.
The Houthi rebels in the Northwest backed by Iran (they now control the capital of The Yemen: Sana'a)
Al Quaeda of the Arabian Peninsula which controls a couple coastal towns.

because the sauids (cough, us, cough) have been bombing the shite out of their poor as frick with almost medieval infrastructure country to bring an end to the civil war and keep the houthis, who are backed by iran, from taking over

Back when I was a tank gunnery instructor at the Armor School at Ft. Knox I had international groups come through to be cross trained in American armor tactics. I remember a Saudi Group coming through and I have to say I’ve never seen a more ate the frick up group of men in my life. I could take four random guys from the OT and get better results.
