Why is Walmart funneling everyone in and out though one set of doors?

They have 5 entrances to the building, you think distancing measures would not want to shuffle every single person through one door right?
Yet they are forcing literally everyone to walk right next to each other.
It's not like they are counting people.
Seems like this is the way to spread a contagion the most...

I went to Walmart yesterday. They were out of Purell wipes for the cart for customers to do it themselves. And there was no Walmart associate spraying down and wiping the carts either. They were counting people coming in and aside from some directional arrows that were on the floor that no one abides by, it was business as usual.

You sure about that? They're definitely counting people at the Walmart over here.

The other entrances are for the workers so they don't have to mingle with the peasantry.

That's their goal. Keep this going and crush the local competition.

they are counting people coming and going at the ones here, and stopping people from entering if the numbers get too high, and then it becomes a one-in, one-out sitaution.
One entrance thus is needed to make that one-in, one-out work.

None that I've been to have been doing that for the last 3 weeks.
Yes they are.

This is exactly why there is only 1 entrance

They are keeping track of the overall number of shoppers in the store. Once they hit their number, they will stop people until other shoppers exit.

At both Sams and Walmart from what I have observed (trying to mostly stay away from Walmart in general) they started out strong talking the big talk, but in typical Walmart corporate fashion, they don't enforce anything (except the count but even that is suspect at Sams the other day). Almost every other store I have been to is wiping carts down and really attempting to be sanitary at the very least but I haven't seen one employee at either Sams or Walmart doing anything of the sort.
Again, I don't care one way or the other because I think all of this is overblown....the point is though, they don't give a shite and it shows. Don't pretend you are something you're not. And Walmart has never been a place that is clean or sanitary in good times.

Because they steal. Have them come in and out one door is easier to watch. C'mon man - you know how they do.

There was a girl sitting at the door with a tablet this morning when I went.

I'm pretty sure this works with multiple entrances too. Just need a networked counter.

I wondered that as well. By using one door you are forcing everyone to get closer together. Target does the same thing. It really makes no sense.

I agree. I don't wear a mask. And I suspect a level of dirty when going to Walmart, from the people who shop there, myself included and certainly from the workers. It is what it is.

I just went looking for a bike (which btw are literally sold out everywhere). and I just went to 3 in my area, they are not counting people whatsoever unless they are using tech or cameras to do it

It's all a show.
Last week I went to a Walmart with a full lot.
That has to translate to a couple hundred people in the store.
They were holding like 5 of us outside.
I just laughed.
Once inside it looked like Black Friday.
But politicians can sit back and pat themselves on the back about masks and crowd management.
These measures don't stand up to a 3rd grade level of analysis.

It's all stupid "Security Theater".
Same amount of people.
Either spread throughout store, or in store and outside huddled together waiting.
Likely makes matters worse if anything.

Virus isn’t spreading as much now, need to group people together to continue the spread and further the narrative by inflating the numbers.

Wal-mart ain't spending that kind of money on tech, much less employees who would know how to use it...
