I had a pair of Maui Jim’s with the plastic frame- the lenses broke around the screw that held them on the frame. Sent them off to get replacement under warranty, they broke again a year later. Warranty was expired by this point, so I paid $80 for new lenses. I still have them, but hardly ever wear them. Found a pair of Rayban with metal frames that I prefer much more.

Excellent glasses.

Have a few Ray Bans, Smiths, Randolph's, etc.

MJ's are the best

I have three pairs of MJs that are all prescription sunglasses. They’re expensive but I really like them.

I’ve been wearing the Peahi’s for about 13 years. There is a company on eBay that sells used ones for very cheap. They show pictures and let you know the condition. I’ve bought a few pair to replace some lenses on my older frames. They are worth every penny if you like glass lenses and frames that are built with quality.

My wife bought me a pair of Oakleys when they first came out, not much of any difference from any other brand I wore except for the ridiculous price, sat them on the seat of my golf cart to take a shot and came back and sat on them. Crap!

The pair I have now many years later cost $1.59 from the dollar tree store and do what I need. The sunglasses don’t make the man.

Look at Randolph Engineering if you're wanting to spend premium dollars on sunglasses..

Maui Jim customer service sucks.

Have 4 pair of Maui Jims and one of them are like the Shady Rays and the ear piece broke. Maui Jim took care of it at no charge I had pretty good luck with their customer service. Guess I was lucky.

My Sunglass Hut pet pieve- SH now owns Rays Bans. So - they’re about eight cabinet sections of Ray Bans versus eight small rows of Maui Jim in the back of any store. I no longer go to Sunglass Hut because of this.

Heck, Luxottica owns Sunglass Hut, Lens Crafters, Ray Ban, Persol, Oakley, Costa, Oliver Peoples and Foster Grant. Hard NOT to find a pair of sunglasses made by them.

Even if I wasn't on a tight budget, it's so easy to break or lose them that I prefer the convenience store brands. Maybe I'll check out Dollar General. I need some shades.

Had the same Costas for like 10 yrs

I've kept the same Persols for going on 15 or more years. Spend money on something nicer and it'll sort of force you to keep up with it.

Do you even have any evidence they're polarized the same? Just because they say polarized doesn't mean they are.

It’s super easy to check if you have two pairs. Just align the lens of one pair perpendicular with a lens of the other. If polarized, it will be black.

Been repeating a pair of Ray bans for over 3 years. They’ve held up surprisingly well. Shady Rays will be my next pair once these get broken or lost lol

I really like mine for the style and comfort but the lens really was the selling point for me,
