4 pack? New one on me

It was a buddy of mine’s birthday last weekend and I wanted to grab a pack of beer for him. He’s a big fan of ginger beer so I stopped at Whole Foods.

Only ginger beer they had was a 4 pack and shite was $14. Island brand or something.

I like shiner bock and guiness because they taste fine even if they're lukewarm or even a little warm.

I agree with the guy that said if you can't drink it without it being ice cold, then it is probably shite beer. A lot of the mainstream shite beer relies on the fact that most will drink it as cold as possible to help mask the shite beer taste.

Cheap beer is served cold because the drinker doesn’t realize the flavor profile as much.

This is why there are cans to let you know it’s cold enough, etc.

it's because beer is nasty, really. the molecules you sense as smell are called esters. thiols, terpenes, etc. the warmer they are the more volatile, making it easier for you to sense their presence. the colder, the less volatile and more difficult to detect. beer has so many powerful aroma compounds that, when fully released is rarely a pleasant experience. this is also but one reason why wine is superior to beer, you can drink and enjoy at any temp

Wish I could give 10 upvotes here.

Real beer drinkers admit it. I'm a bjcp beer judge and I let the beer warm so that you can experience all of the aspects. It becomes more aromatic and any flaw is accentuated. Saying it is rarely a pleasant experience is quite a stretch.

Yes, let me clarify.

People who are disgusted by warm beer taste, really don't enjoy the taste of beer. They like it as cold as possible in order to mask the true aroma and bear the taste.

It's like adding a cup of milk to your coffee.

Most definitely.
Further, he's a denier of having an alcohol problem, since he never buys more than 4 at a time. Alcoholics would have to buy by the cases. That or he's hiding his alcohol problem from his family.

It depends on the beer. There are some beers I’m fine with drinking at room temperature. Miller Lite isn’t one of them.

My dad would buy a case of Bud and stick it in the tool box of his truck, dead of summer and drink away.

Especially if he was working in the yard

Not sure what a real beer drinker is but I drink lots of beer and many different varities of it, all the time and I can't drink the hot stuff. So I guess I don't qualify as one.

This is trashy as hell. Just buy a case and ensure you have ice cold beer at home.

I bet you crack one openon your way home too
