I'm guessing it's the collectivist nature of our country. Some people are against it because of religious views, others are against it because some lack any amount of self-control and will be a burden on society. Personally, I think when you stop having these societal fallbacks that bail people out, they act more responsibly.

Regardless, outlawing something only centralizes power among the worst of society and leads to more criminality that is much worse than what is trying to be avoided.

When politicians can't figure out a way to get their cut they feign outrage and outlaw it based on their "values".

Just another example of activities that women have tried to ban because it can compete with pussy for men's attention just like drugs and alcohol.

You may be right about this.

A few years ago, I was in Rhodes (Greece), I think, and my family, along with about 100 other people were climbing this stairway in a "castle", about 25' wide, with absolutely no railing at all on one side... absolute drop dead if you fell off the side. No one got too close to the side... NEVER in the USA, would they allow mass groups to have to climb stairs so responsibly.

Lawyers... making our laws. That's our problem.

Are you asking, in general, why its illegal? In Louisiana, for example, obviously some forms of gambling is legal (casinos, lottery, truck stops with poker machines, betting on horse races).

With that said, there are other areas of gambling that can be provided. It would of course be taxed, but in a state like Louisiana, it should explore all options in terms of what other forms of gambling they can make legal. They can use the tax money...

Same thing goes for prostitution. People are going to do it no matter what, why not legalize it, make it safer and benefit from the tax dollars it generates.

Secondly, you would definitely care when that same woman is asking for government welfare checks from her unplanned pregnancies. Not to mention the families ripped apart from the men planting their seeds in them. It might even lead to further extortion potential.

You can regulate it to safe sex, Why would pro want to waste 9 months off the job?
