Diet sodas are disgusting. If I'm going to have a soda I'm getting the real thing. Why frick around?
Because one has 160 calories and the other doesn’t

Not sure i'd consider it a vice as much as - I want to drink a cold drink every once in a while and I don't want to consume 60g of sugar while doing it.
Personally I drink a lot of bottled water and coffee. If I feel like something sweet to go with it I'll throw in a propel packet.

Id never say that diet drinks are a health food...but they are much better than ingesting basically a cup of sugar

I usually drink a Coke per week but with cane sugar, so much better.
What's funny is unless you drink it very soon after bottling the sucrose will have been hydrolyzed into its fructose and glucose monomers. It is mainly confirmation bias and little bit of the extra sodium.

No it’s not way worse. It’s lighter tasting and doesn’t feel like you’re drinking straight syrup.

I haven't drunk soda since the 90s
not on a regular basis anyway I mean I've I've had one since the 90s
I've had a six pack of bottled root beer for about six months
for me
it was the heroin

Ehh...yes. But that's like saying a gallon of fuel will do the same thing for your honda civic that it will do for my toyota tundra.

Depends on if you buy into the aspertame cancer studies or not.

Now you're talking metabolic health, and I agree, but from a straight weight loss perspective it’s thermodynamics.

I haven't drank a diet soda in probably over a decade, but I recall it tasting like syrup and plastic.

The 2nd most ingredient in Diet Mtn Dew is Orange Juice behind carbonated water. I miss it dearly since giving up sodas.

I dont really. I think either is fine if you just keep it in moderation. I actually like carbonated water and it gives me the fix that a diet drink would

Correct. From a thermodynamics perspective a calorie is a calorie. Unfortunately, none of us process calories the same way. Young people are great at that shite. Olds tend to not be that great at it.(generally speaking)

Because they believe if they drink a diet soda to wash down that large roast beef po-boy with a side of fries, they will not gain weight.

You certainly can know that something can be arguable.

That is looking at the efficiency of the engines. If two engines have the same thermal efficiency they will do the same work with a gallon of the same gasoline. A calorie is a calorie by definition. How it will fuel a specific animal requires that you take into account the efficiency of the animal's "engine" and certain delivery systems (foods) have varied costs to extract the energy from the carrier so there is a difference in net calories available to be "burned".

That aspartame/ caffeine combo is known to be addictive.
The aspartame brain tumor is nasty also.
