You should have been around in the 80's

Common Point
Plum Crazy
2001
Miami the Bar
Texas Dance Hall
Baby Doe's
Sports Illustrated
Fred's
Ivar's
The Old Colonels Club
The Thirsty Tiger
Murphy's
All the Bars down Highland Road (Cotton Club, etc.)
The Library
The Kingfish
The Caterie
The list goes on and on...

Supposedly, the city parish passed an ordinance that bars could only be opened in the place of old bars.. No new locations. That is when it. Started to die.

Rocky#,

I think it’s pretty good compared to what it was 10 years ago. Downtown. Overpass, & the gates are 1000% better than they used to be.

For a city the size of Baton Rouge it’s pretty darn good IMO.

I mostly hung at the Bayou and Chimes but went to Xanthus quite a bit to mack on goth girls. I'm surprised my dick didn't fall off the shite I stick it in.

Since the death of downtown this is the best spot

Bengal Tap Room is a good spot to grab a couple beers and some decent bar food. Really nice staff as well

Is The Station still a thing? I remember from around 1999-2006 it was very popular.

Pahahaha no decent girl, self respecting girl was leaving me, or anyone else, for a laffy douche. Keep thinking BR peeps chose to go to laffy nightlife over BR. It’s ok to be little brother and pick up our scraps

Understatement of the year and sad part is BR is too stupid and they will vote another similar person as the next mayor after her. She has cemented the reason I’ll never move back I to EBR unless major changes happen

It was the under 21 crowd that would go to Lafayette from BR in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. The reason was that the drinking age was never enforced at most of the college bars until around 2008-10. Once the ABC cracked down, the college bars in Lafayette on “the strip” basically died

It was alright 15 years ago. Buncha places closed. Please don't make 3rd more new orleans like. They tried but failed. I've known so many people to get DWIs bar-hopping across town.

Can you, at nearly 40 years old, brag to us some more about finally finding a woman to birth you some children?

While this never happened even for the Lafayette people unless it was the holidays…Lafayette’s downtown is far better than what BR’s is. I’d rather drink at tiger land, but it would be great if BR had anything close to it. LSU just lacks that college town scene. Tiger land is a dump.
