No, we shouldn't ban cars.

But maybe we should have speed limits, seat belt laws, safety driving courses, car manufacturer regulations, and an entire host of other regulations all centered around "public safety"

seriously people...stop using driving cars as your analogy on this because its a dumb one as you are basically arguing for regulations

We have all of those things you mentioned and guess what? Over 3k people die in car accidents every day. And yet we still drive.

By going into crowded spaces you are assuming a risk that you could catch a virus.

By driving you are assuming a risk that you could die in a car accident.

Yeah. I know.

Just like people have died and would die if we continued the COVID restrictions.

My entire point is that the driving analogy is a bad one simply because we do have lots of restrictions on driving all in the name of public safety.

Also, roughly 10k people in the US die in car accidents in 4 months

so not sure why you are trying to compare 90k to 10k as some "gotcha"

Ask the families of the 90K+ that died from it in 4 months, so far

Hate to break it to you, but if you died from this virus, you likely didn’t have much time left anyway. I’ve had 3 family members over the age of 70 come down with it and all were fine.

But but but - muh ventilators. I've got a 0.005% chance of being on a ventilator. I have spent 4 1/2 months on one in ICU - it sucks and I don't wish it on anyone, but I can make it if I end up on one.

So, if we lined up family members of all 90k people who have died; they will ALL day that the shutdowns are important? Logical? Needed?

I’m just a smuck, but even I know that the reopening data will take about 10 weeks to show a negative movement. It’s only been about three weeks since some states reopened. I think reopening is a good idea, but I’m open minded, and the decisive data is yet to come in.

Also, how many ER doctors have to come out and say that they are treating severe cases with hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and azithromycin with 100% effectiveness before this becomes standard treatment protocol?

Yale and Harvard have changed their IP algorithms. They are no longer trying hydroxychloroquine. They are using Remdesivir.

You're close. Only missed it by 2900. In the US 36,500 people died in auto accidents in 2018 or 100 per day.
