Sometimes people are just too dense to drive correctly. Get over yourself and don't take the moronic side of this issue.

$1000 annually, 2 years' of automobile insurance paid in advance, height and weight standards must be met, proof of US citizenship (at least 3 docs), no burqas in your DL photo, and you must agree to a tracking chip being inserted into your arm.

I thought that line means we are all going the same direction but stay in your own damn lane and do not cross this line.
Its to do this while you do the following.

big arse long solid white line that probably extends for .5 mile to let drivers gain speed to properly merge and not frick up I-12 traffic

It sure isn't understood in this state. It is the cause of a lot of traffic I find.

I'd rather go 40 getting onto the interstate because of safety and stuff
When it's bad, I make sure to jump around them and keep them from getting on until the last second when they jam on the brakes.
The worst is people who have mental breakdowns and just stop half in the right interstate lane and the other half in the merge lane

Ask yourself as a driver, "Will I sit here in the merge lane and hold up any traffic behind me and wait for an opportunity to get into traffic?" or "Will I slowly advance in the merge lane and MERGE into traffic in a smooth non-noticeable manner keeping a steady flow of traffic manageable?"
My personal favorite is when the acceleration lane happens to be the deceleration lane. What could go wrong?

Now, if you are referring moving to the left lane when it is completely free (not oh, there is a car but it's 200 fete back there), that's different.
Everything you said, I thought was common knowledge. Apparently Pectus is one of those bad drivers who doesn't know how to merge. Its actually common sense....Should many change flow of traffic for one individual coming, or should one individual change flow for the traffic one is approaching?

Tose in the right lane have 3 options. Left lane, or speed up, or slow down.
Left lane is one option for the drivers on the road, if possible and if they see the person coming into traffic. The other two options are for the person merging into traffic.

I don't even know what y'all are even talking about. This shite never happens in Florida.

because people don't understand what "Yield" means
most people think it means force your way in

Yeah. If you were born in Baton Rouge, your odds of being aggressively stupid are sky high. Aggressive stupidity translates to aggressive bad driving.
Dense, indeed.

The west coast can merge just fine, the south can not merge if their lives depended on it.
West coast also meters ramps which help tremendously with merging. If you have a steady line of bumper to bumper cars trying to get onto the interstate, it will stop traffic.
Also we have a lot of on ramps that are either too short or create a weave movement where some cars are trying to accelerate to get on the interstate while other are trying to decelerate to get off in the same lane (see: downtown NOLA)

Yeah, they're supposed to be "acceleration" lanes that some peeps don't get, and there are also poorly designed on/off ramps such as I12 and Airline overpass.

Don't forget about the people that tap the brakes right before they get on the Interstate.

This is the other one that really drives me nuts. I was hit head on in Gonzales by someone improperly using the turn lane and almost happened to me on Jefferson in BR again earlier this week.
