Ask yourself as a driver, "Will I sit here in the merge lane and hold up any traffic behind me and wait for an opportunity to get into traffic?" or "Will I slowly advance in the merge lane and MERGE into traffic in a smooth non-noticeable manner keeping a steady flow of traffic manageable?"
I believe the correct nomenclature is "acceleration lane". Move your a$$ and get with the flow.

I'd say 75% of people actually hit the brakes for no reason when they are on on-ramps.
The Causeway Blvd entrance by me is about 3/4 of a mile long, and it isn't uncommon for people to be going 40 trying to merge

It took me 20 minutes from the time I hit traffic On 190 north to get on I12 west yesterday. Something has to be done there, it's ridiculous.

this shite kills me on Brightside. Between the damn RR Xing there that has been and will be a problem forever, and people zooming in the center turn lane, I have come to the conclusion that I'm going to die driving on that street eventually.

But if it is also the deceleration lane, how is one supposed to do both at the same time?
