So if your good friend asked for a hand moving into his new home... Your going to ask him, How much does it pay ?

Everyday accnodefense & rebeloke become more and more alike.

"No pay, no work"
Not a value.
More of a catchphrase.
It's the precursor to this Cuba Gooding Jr chestnut:

Is that John or Howard?

You sound selfish. Congrats. NOLA was rebuilt after Katrina by volunteers.

Correct. I have done this before. My friend wanted me to help him move a table and chairs he bought on craigslist. Wanted me to drive out to Denton with him to pick it up. I said only if I am fairly compensated for my labor, time, gas, and any wear & tear to my vehicle. He accepted.
And to further explain my values, I have to get paid a fair rate. The "no pay, no work" value doesn't mean I will do something if I get paid a dollar.
I have to be paid a fair rate as well.
The value should actually be "No fair pay for the task, no work".

My grandfather grew up in the depression and said that people would try to get others to work for them and then not pay them.
So your grandfather is saying that before he would work for anyone, he required them to pre-pay him? hmmmm.....
quote:
No pay, no work. What's wrong with that.
Well, for starters, business owners would pay someone, and as soon as they turned their backs, the person would leave, pre-paid for his work?
This is just crazy. It's almost like your story doesn't add up, and your grandfather that lived through the depression is not a real person...

I think your values are flawed. If there is a situation in which you volunteering to work could really have an impact on something that needs attention, you are telling me your values would stop you from doing good?

You sound like a piece of shite. Sincerely.

I don't believe you. You're just trolling. No one is this big of an a-hole.

If your work is as good as your troll attempts, then you must be a pretty shitty worker.

Most of my employees volunteered with me over Thanksgiving serving food at a church for people that aren't as well off as we are. The one's that didn't had to work the over the weekend. I gave everyone an option.
The folk that volunteered beside me at the church will get a better Christmas bonus than ones that choose to work. When the inevitable shitbird bitches about it, I will tell him that the people that volunteered we're comped for lost time with family during Thanksgiving.
The sad thing is I have a kid that one of the kids that volunteered with me had to serve his family, that was as gut wrenching as of seen than I've seen in forever. They left with a ton of food and were extremely appreciative.
I hope Randell doesn't have the same shitty attitude as OP.

Red flag noted. No way you have any friends if this is true.

I'm not sure that's legal, fwiw.

Would you drive 30 miles out of your way in rush hour on a Tuesday after work using your own vehicle and own gas to pick up something for someone else, for free?
