Good and bad.
Maximize the good.
Minimize the bad.

It took me two years. Once you realize there’s just a lot more opportunities elsewhere it’s an easy decision.

If you have multiple kids, you can do basically all of that with Airbnb’s or a second vacation home with just the savings from education + car insurance

Walt OReilly, I highly doubt you would have the wherewithal nor the gall to say that to xiv’s face.

Know what I did when i was stranded in Southeast Asia?

Had crawfish boils and jambalaya cookouts for the other expats

Texans don’t have to make posts like this because everyone already accepts and knows why we are the greatest.

OP reeks of insecurity. Damn shame.

Says Texas is the greatest.

Spends all day on a Louisiana web site.

Reading your post and seeing the pictures makes me a little homesick but Louisiana’s economy makes it difficult to use my degree.

You always hear that LSU fans “travel well”. It’s not that they traveled to that particular site for the game, they live in that particular area because of the lack of jobs in Louisiana.

Over the past 5 years my wife and I have visited Chicago, San Diego, Phoenix and Vegas. Going to Germany for Octoberfest next September. Also planning a trip to Ireland in the next 3-5 years.

Your state is quickly becoming California East. Isn’t the slogan for Austin- keep Austin weird. Bunch of liberal pussies

All of those things are wonderful, but they are all examples of an "exception" to normal life in Louisiana. When I travel home, I ask myself "What would I do for fun on a normal Wednesday or Saturday for a few hours?" and I'm left scratching my head.

OP lists reasons why Louisiana is fun to visit as a tourist, but he doesn't list why it is a great place to live.

Excellent post sir! I have lived in Illinois, California and Arizona but I love my home state the best and will never leave again. Wish I never left in the first place
