I don’t have kids, work 40 hours a week. My workout partner has 2 kids (8 and 10) and a wife at home. He is there every morning at 5 am.
Obviously there are reasons that people can’t be in good physical shape, after suffering a stroke, MI, etc. I get that. But the “I don’t have time” excuse is a load of BS. You can make 45 minutes to workout in. I’m not saying everyone has to go through a 1.5 hour workout everyday.

I think 44-46 is a good jacket size for a man. Thoughts?

When you turn 46, have a wife, a kid or two, and a career that’s a little further along, report back. You may find, just maybe, that exercising isn’t as important then as it seems now. And as it loses its importance you’ll find the time to devote to it better spent elsewhere.
Not saying it’s right or wrong. Just that it can happen. Even if you think there’s no possible way at this point in your life.

I guess I view working out as something I can’t afford not to do.

I guess it depends on your size. Not everyone is 5'8" 150. I was that big in the 8th grade.

I agree, that’s why I go at lunchtime. I’m not getting yoked, but at least I’m moving around for a little while and doing something.

"I have a family so I'm not going to exercise because it's not important so instead I'll go into a diabetic coma or have a heart attack and die at 52"
Solid logic

Even if like someone had mentioned early, eating healthy. I can’t understand people blaming their children for not doing something that will likely keep you with your children longer.

Wasn't there an OG OT poster that posted pics like this?

I’m about to workout 5-7 times a week
3 days weights
Cardio
And start learning some judo and jiu jitsu soon
I got tired of being in my mid 30’s, being a fricking fatass, needed to be a better dad for my daughter, and realized I still have dreams. I’ve been held down for so long, not anymore

How many kids do you have under the age of six. How many hours over 50 do you work per week?
I have 2 and one that is seven. I work 50+ every week and have. Ton of responsibility at work. I do all of the cooking and 90% of the cleaning as the wife has an even more stressful job.
Yet I still workout almost everyday.
I don't understand how some of y'all sit around like y'all do. I'm not sitting on the couch unless it's to watch a game, shite is boring.
Btw I am 36 so it's not an age thing.

On the other hand, they could spend everyday in the gym and still Die from a heart attack at 49 or get cancer and die in their 50s
See how that works?
