Truckers never took an oath that they would die for their country.

About 10% are on front line duty BUT 100% took the oath.

Many of the 90% simply live in targeted locations. Some are there 24/7.

At the end of the day, many professions are necessary to make the economy work and feed folks. Imagine if welders or farmers or ironworkers quit. No new buildings, no metal stuff, no food, etc...

Veterans are respected because they are willing to go around the world and die on a lonely woods to protect our constitution and way of life.

fuq? Last time I checked I don’t remember seeing a long haul trucker taking a full IED blast with multiple casualties?

I don’t know dude, some of these truckers deliver to cities like New Orleans, Chicago and probably to some bad parts of town.

I always let truckers over even if I have to brake. I don’t actively look to let vets merge in my lane.

Probably because they do this…

… as the tuck in the left lane ramps up to 67.2 MPH in a several miles long attempt to pass the truck on on right who fights valiantly to do 67.15 MPH.

Why treat anyone differently? Why can’t we just be Americans?

I actually feel like we should stop putting certain people on a pedestal for doing their job.

It takes everyone to keep the economy turning. Without the farmer there is no food for the restaurant. Without the cook there is no lunch for the miner. Without the miner, there is no iron ore for the steel. No coal for electricity. Without the steel mill worker there is no steel. Without the steel there are no trucks. Without trucks there are no long haulers. There are no guns or knives without steel. There are no ships. No military vehicles. So the US marine is powerless without this equipment.

The majority of them chose the military because their options were limited.
I’m not knocking military folks, but most of them just needed a job and the the sign-on bonus.

If anything, our society looks down on these important workers.

I don't disagree with you but most truckers are entitled assholes. They think they own the road. Some are great but so many are just straight up assholes.
