Because that would make too much sense and people have been brainwashed to believe that water from the tap/hose is toxic.

Having water pressure is not a guarantee

1) some people are on well water, lose power, lose water
2) water line breaks can happen, and cause drop or loss in pressure.
3) some ares are not on tower assisted water and rely on pumps, lose power to pumping stations lose water
4) prolong power outages will keep the pumps from filling to towers, and will eventually result in water loss.

I have a 20 gallon drum, with a hand pump, I usually fill in this situation...

Hurricane prep. As in... before the storm gets there fill up containers with water.

I'll use the bladder for bathing water. I keep about 30 gallons of water at my hide at any given time anyways.

If you have a brewing kettle and a propane burner you can boil the stored water daily. awesome idea! i'll do the same.
