Why doesn’t Starbucks have better regular coffee?

I’m not trying to start a bash everything Starbucks thread, I like their lattes and some of the other stuff, my wife loves their tea.

The regular coffeee they have though is just not good, it taste almost burnt and just lacking flavor, you’d think a coffee house would make sure they have really good regular coffee

Probably not as big of a money maker as their $10 fat white girl drinks, so they don’t care as much.

That’s diluted espresso though, not regular brewed coffee.

It is good though.

Is this when you’re going to convince me that south Louisiana is the Mecca of coffee flavor?
Coffee on the west coast is delicious for the most part

I agree. It’s honestly the worst coffee I’ve ever had anywhere, and Ive given it a chance several times across several different locations. It’s sorta mind boggling how they can’t get a simple thing like coffee right when that is supposed to be what they do.

My theory is that they formulate it so it works better with all their fru-fru girly drinks. No clue if that's reality, but that's my theory. Their regular coffee is just awful. Had better gas station coffee. Plus very overpriced.

They prefer to sell you one of those vanilla bullshite latte cappa things for $7 than focus on regular coffee.

Community is delicious for sure, but that’s because of the quality of the company not because it’s in south LA

Kinda a burnt taste to me. I have no problem going to coffee houses either. Most places are $1.50-2.50 regular coffees even though I usually just make my own. I’ll go to a local coffee shop though 1-2 a month. Not sure why people think Starbucks regular coffees are $4-5, they are actually cheaper than most local coffee shops, obviously the quality is worse though.

I like community house blend, loved their hotel blend but I assume they quit making them.

Actually New Orleans and coffee have a very long history. And unless something has changed, it is the number 1 port of entry for beans.

Starbucks has like 20 different "regular" coffees, most of which are pretty good.

There are plenty of coffees I prefer more and plenty of coffee houses I prefer, but Starbucks is fine. It's superior to almost all of its big brand rivals, which tend toward thin, flavorless coffee.

I’ve quit buying the coffee at Starbucks. My coffee is much much better. I stick to the Chai Latte from Starbucks. I don’t think the staff can mess that up as much as they can the coffee. BTW, I use Ruth’s Blend Coffee beans in my machine. Blended and roasted in New Orleans by Try Me Coffee Co. Not sold in stores.

It sure why the burnt flavor is there. That's been a criticism of Starbucks for a while.

TBH if you’re just going to get a cup of coffee from starbucks you should go to a local coffee shop or hit a gas station (loves or pilot). Same and/or better than starbucks for less wait and lower price.

Yes truck stop coffee > starbucks coffee
