Why doesn't Houston area have an amusement park??

I know why astroworld folded.

But damn....the market is there.

....and dont tell me about that grand Texas one, those people cant get their shite together.

Is this the one up 59? I was shocked to hear it was supposedly open. I remember being excited for it when I heard they were building it, and then never heard about it again. Terrible marketing.

Probably had as much success as all the people who kept trying to salvage JazzLand.

True story though - we went to Houston for Katrina, and it was towards the very end of Astroworld being open. It was pretty cool.

Most people don’t know this but one of the primary reasons AW shut down was because of the thug element. It made it no longer a family friendly outing.

Every knows that

Astroworld became a cheaper alternative to daycare for lots of people in the summer

Yea if they opened another one it would have to be out near Conroe, League City, or Katy.

Had a season pass to AW in '75. I remember it cost 20 bucks. Me and my buddy rode our bikes from Spring Branch to AW damn near every day.

Nearly no kid today had the kind of freedom ealier generations had.

I don’t think so.

If he was it wasn’t in its historic location - which is now the Texan’s NRG Stadium and other businesses.
