Grover was Cookie monsters methhead addict brother who could never get straight. Everyone on Sesame Street tried to get him help but he never listened.

Fun fact: the guy who did the voice for Grover also played the prison guard who returned a "soiled prophylactic" to John Belushi in The Blues Brothers.

A lot of people don't realize that the Greens and Blues had segregated bathrooms and restaurants on Sesame Street back in the day.
The Blues took full advantage of their status and treated the Greens as second class citizens, hence why Oscar lives in a fricking trashcan.
