It's pretty common for them to do that. Mine does it occasionally. My guess is they a have stomach ache.

It’s stomach is upset and having trouble digesting.

Grass is natural instinct to eat bc it will make the dog vomit.

They do it when their stomach hurts. My college roommates beagle did it. Try some different food if it’s happening often.

Check your dog’s diet. Their kibble might not be agreeing with them.

Canned Pumpkin is good for their stomach. Buy the kind with no sugar added - it will help calm their stomach.

Also, adding a daily probiotic supplement will help as well.

This has helped my dog, he never gets an upset stomach anymore

It’s not a problem if this isn’t happening regularly. If they do this once in a while then they are probably just having an upset stomach. When my dog this I make sure that we stay out a little longer than normal so she won’t throw up once we come inside. For my dog there isn’t usually a very long lag between eating the grass and throwing up.
