Cars are more reliable now than ever before. 200,000 miles is a reasonable expectation.
TV is better as far as compelling shows.
Medicine is much better. Diagnostics more accurate. And, anesthesia beats the shite out of a swig of whiskey and biting a wooden spoon.
Technology is better. Instead of rummaging through 26 volumes of the Funk and Wagnall's encyclopedia for a snippet of info, I can peruse the internet for volumes.
And video games...Red Dead Redemption beats the shite out of Combat for the Atari 2600.

Disagree. One thing positive is younger girls (20-30 yr olds) are much more attractive today than in decades past. Technology and Photoshopping has led to models being unrealistically hot and it created a drive for young women to attain that look. May not be healthy for their mental well being, but as a man I'm not complaining about it

They might be more reliable and safer due to improved tech, but everything lost its sense of style and artistic touch. No bright colors, no uniqueness, no cool body styles. Houses are the same way. Look at houses built pre 1950. All the custom woodwork and such that made them unique. Don't see that much anymore.

I drive a 2015 fully loaded gmc z71.
I'm not talking about mpg or safety. I'm talking the lack of style and uniqueness. The type of things that make you proud for it to be uniquely yours. American car manufacturers stopped doing that around the 80s after the land yachts and muscle car eras.
At least I was able to customize my new ski boat. That thing is a beauty and nobody around has one remotely like it.

Depends where you live. Options are limited around here but oh well.
One of the things I love about the Ms delta is it has maintained a unique culture with food and music. Some of the absolute best restaurants I've ever eaten at are around here. It depresses me to go to some big city suburban area and it's all chain restaurants and hardly no privately family owned hole in the wall type places.
