There was some crappy place on or around Govenrnment St. that my friend did open mic at once because he wanted to freak out the crowd. Wouldn't be surprised if they stopped doing it after his set.

Hey baw

I did open mic comedy because that book by Neil Strauss suggested it to help you pick up girls

Maybe you could try that

Came here to say this. Spanish Moon also has open mic night frequently. You seriously didn’t look very hard. These are frequently advertised

15-20 years ago (pre Katrina) there were open mic comedy all over br: triple a, station bar, Phil Brady’s, Boudreaux and Thibadeauxs. Varsity (only twice I recall)

Red Dragon listening room does bigger acts every now and then. Not sure about open mic though.

Nola is your best bet now for comedy. Warning most guys who do it suck though, lol.

They kill people in Baton Rouge over turkey wings. Heckling would absolutely lead to gunfire.

I went to see Screech. Figured out that the gimlets were cheaper than beers. Ended up sloppy drunk and throwing up in the parking lot after Screech put on a horrible show.

Eta: I just remembered those frickers would call every God damn week trying to give away free tickets. Annoyed the shite out of me

Being funny usually requires a modicum of intelligence.

Baton Rouge is still in Louisiana isn't it?

Which was there first, Triple A or The Funny Bone? I used to get free tickets for dropping a business card in the fish bowl by the front door for a drawing. I think everyone who did that won. I do remember several good shows and wish we still had something like that in town.

I don't remember. I do remember the old man that introduced the comedians used to make the same jokes every time. "Last time I got a piece of arse is when my finger went through the toilet paper"
