Why does Baton Rouge continue to poop on businesses?

This article from WAFB is basically saying that because the new Sup was talked about with a business owner, the NAACP will likely protest anyone that is awarded the position.
What exactly does the NAACP provide to the school board and why wouldn't a major tax and donation contributor in the parish not be able to give his/her $.02?
Baton Rouge will continue down this destructive path until some sort of common sense is found. LINK
SWB, Exxon is watching how you handle this.

Extortion, just like everyone else they deal with

Nothing. But when has that made a difference in the past?

Then why do they get attention for stuff like this? There are legit problems to deal with. Why attack the people that pay that much into the system and donates on top of that?

They'll handle this just like the Airport.

It's a damn shame because these guys get NOTHING from this effort. Their only goal is to ensure the school board picks someone who will move the school system forward and not go back to the ways of the past. These public school kids have enough disadvantages and every time business leaders try to help, they are insulted and their motives deemed as suspect. Pretty sad, really.

EBRPSS is pretty much done forever. The only thing the school board is concerned with is money. They couldn't care less about actual education.

Louisiana has a hard time with proper structure

It's stuff like this that makes me think perhaps some of the residents of EBR could start a separate school district. One that may not have to deal with such ridiculousness.
Alas, I guess that will never happen. But we can dream, I suppose

I have come to believe that a very small percentage of blacks totally control the black vote and use that control to butter their own bread. They stir things up to say hey look at me, look what I’m doing for you, and take what they can for themselves and their friends.
If they really cared about education, they’d be rioting in the streets instead of accepting the poor schools they get stuck with.

“We made some errors in the last couple of hours before the meeting that affected the list of candidates moving forward to the interview phase. It may not affect the final choice but in all fairness two candidates should get a recount,” Ware-Jackson says in the NAACP-provided email. “One candidate’s name was wrong on the ballot. ‘Christ’ did not apply. My vote was affected...”
That probably needs to be resolved. I'm sure it was, but the school board probably needs to address this in public, with how it was resolved.
As far as some school board members seeking input from the business community, I don't have a problem with it. I don't have a problem with the NAAAAAAAACP or any other group having discussions about it. Generally, once the selection process begins though, everything is done in open forum. Usually, there is a night or two where the public is allowed to ask questions of the candidates.

They don't need business, they just need money.

They will cry racism and white flight when businesses leave in droves for St. George and Ascension Parish.
