Why does alcohol get a free pass while smoking and vaping get government

Alcohol is worse. Alcohol is legal meth. Yeah its become part of our heritage and we all have those funny epic drunk stories that we tell our friends but the fact remains, alcohol kills 88000 people per year and vaping has killed 26 total.
For the record, I dont vape or smoke but I will drink a beer in social situations if its appropriate.

Because the last time this country tried to do anything serious about alcohol, it failed. Miserably.
Whole lot more drinkers, social or otherwise, than smokers or vapers, too, so fewer people who will speak out.

Everything should be legalized. They government should not protect you against yourself.

Fermented beverages have been around since the beginning of civilization. Probably before that. It's so ingrained in human existence that to deny it would go against the forces that created who we are today.

Alcohol will not kill you after a few days or weeks of normal use. Vaping apparently can. Smoking makes an entire large room smell and that’s just one cigarette. If I drank a beer in that same room, you’d never know.
Alcohol (unless abused in a binge situation) kills after years of chronic use. Vaping is worse.
BTW I’ve seen/read people trying to making the same argument with guns. I do not own an AR style weapon, but find them fun as hell to pew-pew.

But Big Alcohol is the reason why. I doubt you could get the drinking age raised from 18 to 21 today as opposed to back in they 80's when they did it.

And cigarettes are way worse. The thing is, your body can heal relatively quickly from alcohol related damage. For an average drinker, there isn't any damage to speak of. An average smoker might take 10 years to truly recover down to a cellular level, if they can really do that at all.
