SIngle Moms also include divorced women with kids, I assume, of which they are many. I would not lump them in with a women who had a kid out of wedlock.

For the same reason that people treat Drug Addicts/Alcoholics like heroes when they stop doing drugs & drinking.

Women are crazy and drive men away and then claim they are single moms - or they are whores who frick everyone and have 4 kids by 3 men. Strong independent womenz - where the support check at or EBT cardz -

I don't know what the general consensus is ( and I really don't GAS), but that's not who I think of when I hear "single" moms".
Most divorced women receive financial and parenting support from the father, so they aren't "single moms", IMO.

I wouldn’t agree that this is the only way a single mom should be a “hero”. Lots of women are whores. But I’m sure there are many that had husbands become pieces of shite and/or abusive.

Some truly are. But so are some married moms. And dads. Ultimately I don’t like hero status for people fulfilling their duties though. Takes more. Like people who have special needs kids and people who adopt same. Or an abused mother who got away and protected her kids and sacrifices everything to give them a good secure childhood.
