Perfect example was last weekend when that guy smashed into two houses in the nice hood behind the Governors Mansion. Without a picture readily available on the FB Post from WBRZ, several posters assumed Christopher Pender was a white guy.
When someone mentioned "Wonder why he just got a ticket? Hmmmm."
Another said something like "All that damage and just a ticket? Oh the irony."
Another replied, "Because he looks like those who run the system."
WBRZ about the crash
If they would have watched the entire video clip, they would have seen this. Furthermore, he was implicated in a murder in 2011 and lives in the ghetto by Valley Park.

I have a cousin named Janaki and she's white.
I have to say, though- I don't recall ever hearing about a white guy named LaDarius.
The reason certain names are usually assumed to be for people of a certain race is because they usually are. No big deal.

For instance, when a name (for example - Shareeka Williams) is called out over an intercom or on TV and we do not see a face - one would automatically assume that this would be a black woman. Also, if Barbara Smith is called out in the same situation, most would assume it is a white woman. Weird.

I’m in my 50’s and I don’t think culturally predominant African American names became prevalent until the early to mid-90’s.
Just an observation and opinion based on my own experiences.... I could be wrong but that’s what it seems like to me.
