The sun is good for you. Get some fresh air. Stay inside and she how that works.

You ask a good question. I was with a tour group in Tbilisi Georgia that was led by a 32 year old woman, who looked damn good, BTW. She had on a short sleeve dress with a hat. As soon as we left the shaded portion of the tour she whipped out two sleeves and put them on her arms. That woman will be beautiful when she’s 60.

I'm determined it's the overuse of sunscreen that's at least as damaging. Everything you put on your skin goes into your body. What on earth is in sunscreen anyway?
What you are saying is pure blasphemy. Any board-certified dermatologist would slap you in the face if they heard you saying something as stupid as that.

I’ve used Carac cream in the past for pre-cancerous patches.
They have not used it for confirmed spots on me. Both BCC and SCC.
MOHs has been pretty solid. Just an inconvenience on post op care.

Vanity is an intoxicant. People take risks for vanities sake they wouldnt otherwise take.

I guess we could all be 350, never groom our hair and could be white as a ghost. LOL - Boy what a sight.

They don't seem to understand the risks over time or generally don't worry about what doesn't happen immediately.
True, but I need your invincibility potion. Everyone will die of something. The healthiest person in the world could die tomorrow of something. Live life.

Combing your hair isnt in the same class as laying in solar radiation.

My superior genes allow me to tan easily and not get those nasty sunburns you gingers get.
Same here, it’s funny watching someone having to tan for days, what I can get in a afternoon with my shirt off.

Skin cancer is caused by the drastic increase in seed oil consumption and the chemicals people spray all over their bodies, not the sun.

You would definitely feel different if you had a history like me. I have had eighteen melanomas since 1982. The first one in 82 is the only one I had to do chemo for. I go to the dermatologist every three months for checkups. I have no idea how many other skin cancers that I have had that weren’t melanomas.
I understand what you are saying but it's more than just the sun. My dad,his brothers and sisters, and my cousins on my dad's side all have and had skin cancer.
Me,my brother and half sister nada. And we are all blond /blue eyed and look like my dad's side of the family.
My dad was getting spots cut off his face, hands and nose in his 20s. I'm in my late 50s and haven't had a single issue(knock on wood or praise GOD) so it has to be more than just the sun.

I’m 58 and started going to dermatologist a couple years ago. I’ve had several pre cancer spots taken off. Well a couple months ago I had a weird spot come on my chin. Went and got a biopsy, sure enough Melanoma. They had to cut it out. Chin and lip. They deaden it but still hurt like Hell. I had prostate cancer a couple years ago. You don’t think about this when you are young, I was an athlete. Now that I’m getting old I sometimes think this shite is in me…every time I go to the doctor they find something new. OP is right , protect yourself from the sun

Well we don’t live in Asia, so there’s that.

They have not had melanoma.

But why is tanned skin considered attractive? I’ve never understood it.

No matter how hard you try, you won’t live forever. Just enjoy living.

I'm 71 and back when I was a kid I was outside almost all day every day except when in school, so tans came naturally.
Tanning is nothing new, it's been going on for ages. I'd be outside so much, especially in the summer months that my hair would turn damn near blond from being sun-bleached and swimming in Lake Pontchartrain a few times a week. Most of the people I knew, including myself would slather on Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil if wanting a deep tan-----and it worked.
My nickname back then was "Nig"----I kid you not.
