Why do people act like idiots over parking spots?

Just left the mall of Louisiana. Was there only to get gift cards for family members. I parked way out in the boonies and walked to the mall entrance. While walking, I witnessed two incidents of people cursing and acting like idiots over a parking spot.
Why is it so hard to walk a few extra minutes and possibly avoid not spending Christmas in jail?
This is my rant for the day.

Bc other are buying bags of stuff and don’t want to walk far with all that crap. Especially in Baton Rouge. Good chance you don’t come home with all your stuff.

I had to wait behind somebody for probably a minute when coming to and after when leaving the parking lot.
The first time the person in the car could’ve easily have parked 10 feet down the lane and have been walking to the store by the time the other car pulled out. Not only were they too lazy to do that, they also stopped almost right behind the the car that they were waiting for. Forcing that car to struggle to backup so this lazy dumbass could move in.

Sounds like they weren't the only idiots. There's reasons why I avoid places like the mall. I'd rather go to Walmart for gift cards. If they don't have the exact one you want...then get a Visa card to use anywhere, it doesn't have any less or more meaning.
