Why do millenials use the word "journey" so much?

Or is it possible, this term has been forced on everyone by one of these "self-care" freaks?
Just saw one of those hair growth commercials and they mentioned the term "Your Hair Growth Journey".
Thought it was odd.

The answer to your question lies in a journey within

I doubt it. There are no journeys. You do or do not.

It’s mostly women that use this term because they feel the need to be overly dramatic about everything.

Doing some research on it. It seems everyone thinks there has to be purpose to your life as a whole.
To me, that's absurd. If anything I've found, there really is no concrete "purpose" to a person's life.
Sure, you eat to not be hungry. Do good things for family and friends because you love them and care about them. Do a good job at work so you can keep your job.
But a "purpose" to be known for your entire life as a whole before you've even lived it, makes no sense.
Sorry if this is get-off-my-lawn but not everything need be a "journey".
