I just see no upside to marriage for men.
Let me see, I can either..
(a) get married, only be allowed to be with this one woman, and if we break up she gets half of my assets.
(b) see all of the women I want, and if I want her out of my life it only takes a phone call. And I get to keep my money.
Of course women want marriage because 99 percent of the time they marry up financially.
Thanks to no fault divorce they even get your money if you divorce them for infidelity.
It's a no lose for women, either they have a meal ticket for life or they get cash and prizes through divorce.
Why can't you just be in a monogamous life long relationship without bringing a government into it?
You can even have a wedding ceremony and take vows if you want, and keep the government out of your life.
Im not going to lie if i had to do it over again that might be the route i go.

I didn’t sign a contract with the government. I exchanged vows with my wife.
The bigger question is why you’re worried about it?

Marriage is about two people committing to each other to love and support each other faithfully until death and if God wills it to have Children and raise them to the best of their abilities.
People need a better understanding of what marriage really is. Marriage is a lifelong bond, commitment, and hard work with the expressed goal of creating a loving home and environment for family.
It’s about surrendering yourself fully to another person and trusting that they are surrendering themselves fully to you.
You cannot make that decision lightly. And you cannot commit without a true undertaking of what commitment is and who you are committing too.
Unfortunately marriage has just become another beautiful gift God gave us and we tarnished and destroyed because we’re short sited narcissists.
and once again, you can do that without signing a government contract.

And you will be giving the government more money than you have to.

The contract comes from history - making the kids legitimate and the wife gets the husband’s stuff in case he dies (nowadays social security and retirement benefits - and it goes both ways if the wife works)
There was marriage before there was government interference
ETA: plus - I thought you weren’t married? So what does it matter?

You literally can do exactly that.

Many men would be completely helpless without a woman in their life. And sometimes to keep that woman you gotta put a ring on that finger.

Muh, but it's not real unless the government says so.

My sons aren't coming from a broken home. Old fashioned maybe, but who wants to be some single 50 year old who gets to see their kids only part of the time? Or who wants to deal with dating drama at that age? Too many narcissists now.

you aren't capable of liking her without signing a government contract that gives her half of your assets if you break up ?

The paper from the government is just a symbol of purposed commitment - many are signed without feelings attached
Kind of like a college degree - a piece of paper that shows commitment, it doesn’t mean you learned anything
