Please compose an arse-kicking metal jam for the ages, recruit an cohort of musicians to perform it with you, record it, put out a hit album and go on tour. When you do, please demonstrate proper facial expression technique. Don't just bitch about it, fix it and show us!

I think the twangy country singers of today are ridiculous. They are singing a soundtrack for a video. Lots of awkward stops and starts

It doesn’t have any soul or tell a story.

Oh hell, I wrote this last night, kind of a spoken word story song.

The Pistol

I saw the old man wearing an old pistol on his hip,
A weathered colt revolver with a white Pearl handled grip,
I said “Hey Pops, why don’t you get a newer gun?”
He said “Well listen up and you’ll know why once I am done.”

“Great Granpa wore it when they sent him overseas,
In the Argonne where shells felled men among the trees,
He said he never would have made it back alive,
Without the service of this trusty .45,

Pinned down and running short on food and ammunition,
With Germans quickly closing in on their position,
Inside the trench it was a storm of blood and lead,
Six rounds he fired, and then six Krauts were lying dead.

His son then carried it in France in 43,
And won a medal for his act of bravery,
He saved his squad when he took out a gunner’s nest,
He did his duty, and his pistol did the rest,”

He said “I took it with me when I went to Vietnam,
Sometimes at night I Dream I still can smell napalm,
Caught in an ambush, my machine gun out of rounds,
Thanks to this pistol 6 more Viet Cong went down”

My son brought it along with him to foreign lands,
First in Iraq and then off to Afghanistan.”
He stopped a moment and his lips they went all tense,
And I could see that pistol made a lot of sense.

“Caught in the mountains by a group of Taliban,
Inside a cave and they were fighting hand to hand.”
And then he sighed and turned his haggard face towards heaven,
“He took out six of them, but that day there were Seven.”

And then a man with one leg limped up with his boy,
The sadness in the old man’s face then turned to joy,
He said “yeah that old pistol, did a lot to save my life,
But I’m sure glad I brought along,
My great great grandpa’s knife...”

Billy Powell in Freebird was really feeling it, and James Pankow in almost every Chicago video.

But I could also walk in with a guitar and bang your wife if I wanted to.....

I used to love douche bags like you when I was playing music around the country. Someone who's never picked up an instrument telling the real musicians what they need to do. Get some talent, then become a Karen (well, you are already a Karen apparently).

This. It is so weird for musicians and lovers of music to realize that many people don't actually ever "feel" music.

Well, sometimes you do and sometimes you don't.

If you're in a zhithole bar playing "Brown Eyed Girl" for a bunch of annoying drunk fks, it can be pretty "meh" and emotionless....

But when you're 18 years old and your girlfriend just broke up with you your guitar can literally become a lightning rod for every emotion you've ever felt.

I grew up in a time where the Internet didn't exist and Cable TV was something that only existed in Chicago.....my guitar was my WORLD.

Lots of ways to get sex. Spending years of your life learning an instrument so you can go on stage at the local dive bar and make ridiculous faces is just one way. There are a lot more efficient methods, although for guys who think they are having an involuntary spiritual awakening because they play a guitar solo those more efficient methods may not come as naturally.
