Why do FB posts like this always have a selfie to go with the text? (Pic inside)

These kinds of posts annoy me more than they should. They want an excuse to post a picture for attention, and think writing an unrelated caption legitimizes it & fools people into thinking they aren’t doing it for attention.

If they were real and said “I think I look cute & want to post a picture,” I’d have a lot more respect.
