My wife talked me into one years ago and we love them. Yeah, they’re is a lot of trashiness but still a relaxing way to spend a week. We always go with a large group. With 4 kids and a wife that stays home to homeschool a good cheap vacation in the middle of winter is perfect and very needed for my wife. Trashiness aside I wouldn’t take anything for our cruises.

Seeing as how I go with a group of Baptist ministers I’m not sure we fit into the cruise demographic you are busting on. Poor? Yes! Trashy? Not so sure.

I know people who take several a year. Neighbor just did a 6 month around the world cruise, his photos were awesome. He's a wealthy dude and is having the time of his life.
Cruises out of the gulf are probably sketchier than others though.

A lot of cruises are extremely trashy, especially on certain lines. Anything Carnival has a high chance of being trashier than most Walmarts.
Lots of cruises out there that are very high end though, you won’t see a lot of these on Facebook from your trashy friends though.
I don’t get why people get so upset by the word trashy. Trashy people tend to have a lot of fun. Most of Louisiana is incredibly trashy.
