I spent the time typing all that, and it ended up at the bottom of the page. Don't care....reposting. 
It isn't fentanyl tainted with other stuff that is the problem. It is other stuff tainted with fentanyl. Imagine buying 25 hydrocodone pills. Imagine you take five of them and everything is great. Now, imagine you take the sixth pill and it kills you.
China has a large market for counterfeit pills in the US. They look very similar to the real deal. They cannot continue to sell those fake pills on the black market if they don't get people high. They can cheaply produce fentanyl and cheaply press it into the form of legitimate pain pills, thousands at a time. However, the presses and the people running them are not very good. From the same batch, one pill can have little-to-no fentanyl in it while another can have 10 times the lethal dose.
The Chinese plants and labs can manufacture many more pills using fentanyl than the opioids that are actually used in the legitimate pills and sell them at the same street value.

China is basically using the same concept of the of the opium wars, but on us with fentanyl. The British brought down Chinese society with opium and they’re trying to do that to us because of our geopolitical war with China.

This issue is so complex. I will ramble.
Making hydrocodone a schedule 2 narcotic was the lynch pin, the tipping point, thw straw etc...
The government attempted to tackle a problem, but it was like they rolled up a newspaper to kill a weird looking spider.
they did not check to see that the spider had babies on its back. We smashed it and 1000 spiders ran everywhere. Heroin makes a raging comeback, fentanyl gets used, carfentanyl (sp? a veterinary fentanyl) is used, Norco bumps up the food chain to oxy status and oxy moves up to a higher position in the drug dealer market.
People keep saying "chinese fentanyl" you can just say "fentanyl". Fentanyl has been around as long as I have been a nurse (1998) I don't know how long its been around.
China and India make ALL of our generic medications I believe. Maybe russia as well. Saw a story the other day. The US not only makes no generic meds, but we don't have the capability to either, and it would take some time to get production underway.
We have fricked ourselves in every orifice.

This is a huge sword the Chinese or whomever could hang over us. Cut off the generics and a lot of people are suddenly in a life or death situation.

Guess I'm just curious why fentanyl is the predominant thing of theirs hitting the black market. Seems like they would have all available narcotics to sell if they wanted to.
