I went to take my son and nephews over there and was surprised it was closed down. We went not that long ago and they had a blast. We ended up going to Area 51 behind the mall of Louisiana and damn that was a lot of kids and parents arguing over parking spots. It was bigger then sky zone and they had a lot of fun but they need a bigger parking lot. I didn’t know if sky zone closed because of not getting enough business or what.

Would they have closed if they were getting a lot of business?

M&A between the two companies nationally. Local franchisee decided to walk.

Anyone else feel like after a year or two, the Baton Rouge TopGolf will lose its luster? I feel it’s a nice addition to the area, just wondering if the craze from a few years ago is waning.

The rent there is $10,000/month

That’s before they pay a single other bill to run that business.

It’s ten years late getting here, but everything in BR usually is.

I don’t think the interest in it will wain and kill it, but cultcha will

I’ve never understood why property owners would want to make the rent so high that a buisness couldn’t sustain itself in that location

Our jai alai facility should be a grand addition as well!

It had nothing to do with the rent. The two companies merged nationally. They said these two locations are too close per their franchise agreements for the single company. So the sky zone owner opted to walk vs. moving it to another location.

It was in BRBR.

That building is very nice. You have to recoup your expenses in a relatively short time or there's no incentive to build.

120K a year isn't that high for a facility that big at that location.
Remember the property owner pays the property taxes, buys some insurance and some maintenance items.

Didn't even know there was one in Baton Rouge. Maybe a little advertising and marketing would have helped.

120k annual rent is pretty cheap for any good. There is another SkyZone property for sale right now and they're paying mid 300s in annual rent.

Gruesome double jump accident.

When the merger went through, did the Sky Zone franchisee get some sort of compensation or did they just tell him to get fricked because he didn't want to move?
