Does anyone know why this loser was chosen to become Louisiana State University president?

Under his tenure, the administration at LSU even outside of athletics has had some laughable hires. For example, can anyone explain why Mari Fuentes, who hails from the powerhouse of UT-El Paso was hired as the Dean of Students?
