Waterford 3 and Riverbend are having refueling outages at the same time which caused shortages which led to this and may continute to exacerbate it. The time between refueling outages at a nuclear power plant typically ranges from 12 to 24 months, depending on the plant. The outage itself usually lasts 30 to 60 days, during which the plant refuels. Waterford 3 has a dependable capacity of 1,159 MW and Riverbend 974 MW
