You are way wrong about this. Better than Atlanta's for sure and on par with anywhere else in the country.

Here is why I’ve had “Dallas, Texas” as my address (proper, not suburbs) since 1995:
Yes, there are summers which have been brutal, but the average annual temp is 65°. Traffic is pretty bad at times, but there is a decent highway system which loops the metroplex and then loops around it wider with 3 major north and south arteries feeding the city to the rest of the state.
Texas is conservative and Christian, and I was able to open a multimillion dollar company at the age of 29 with no state taxes and reasonable property taxes on two properties that I’ve owned that have greatly appreciated in value. Texas is an open-carry state, which we can now open carry without an LTC, even though I’ve always maintained mine.
All my children were educated in a combination of public and magnet schools ranked in the top 10 in the entire nation. All of them graduated from top tier public universities and are living successful young lives with their families here.
Dallas’ culture, however, is based on consumption. Our cuisine and fashion and cars and real estate are very competitive, so those options afford us to have decent value of every commodity to which we want access.
Finally, we are home to the biggest network company in America, AT&T and Exxon Mobil which was the largest oil company in America. DFW International Airport is one of the largest airports in America as well.
I’m sure I can formulate some more reasons if you are considering locating to Dallas from anywhere in the country.

And every major city has good food.
Yeah if you live in the suburbs with only fast food and quick serve restaurants that’s different. But the city of Dallas I’m guessing has some great restaurants. Same as Atlanta.

The thing that makes Dallas better than the others is it’s in Texas.
Sounds like you are referring to downtown, nobody that doesn’t have to lives down there unless you are gay. You have to go north son, that’s where the action is, but you probably can’t afford it.
Clemson sucks BTW

I lived there for two years and agree - bland is a good descriptor.

ExxonMobil moved it’s headquarters to Spring, TX and has a dwindling presence in DFW

Wait have you considered Minneapolis? Terribly cold, Somali and pajeets, radical liberal crazies

It's got traffic and it's hot but it's got just about anything I need. I feel like it's big enough that if I wanted to do anything between shop at a Korean market or sky drive indoors, I could do it. What more do I need? Plenty of options. Don't live in south Dallas.

It's like quite a few cities, especially those not precar - not much of an identity, a business town with people from everywhere and not much else to do except count their money or wish they had more. That amplifies the shortcomings that every big city has.

Why does Dallas exist?
Fort Worth was on the cattle trail from San Antonio to Kansas. Why didn't that become the major city?

DFW is a lot better than most cities stay in FT Worth they have done a alot with Sundance Square, the stockyard, the area by the Rennaisance etc.

Agree. Its not the greatest, but certainly not the worst.
I can think of several others I would hate long before Dallas.
