Also. I feel like "loose" and "lose" is a recent phenomenon and is certainly not restricted to this message board. It boggles my mind how often I see this mistake.

You should have said mind bottling.

This thread really reaches for the low hanging fruit.

The misuse of gone and went is another one.

One of my favorites is:
Definitely vs. Defiantly
Patrick Peterson was not defiantly in bounds. The reviewer in the booth defiantly upheld the call on the field despite clear video evidence which showed he was definitely in bounds.

I'll defend this by saying that programs are quick to autocorrect to defiantly if definitely is misspelled "definatly".

This chick back in law school (and this was just before autocorrect text messaging and all) used to all ways text me this.
Example -
Me: Want me to come over?
Her: Defiantly

You're the poster who uses emoticons approximately 75% of the time?
I'm not sure about that, but he's definitely the poster that uses exclamation marks excessively.

rein vs. reign
A King reigns over his country. Emperor Miles reigns over his college football empire.
If the AD needs to reduce the amount of drunk students in the student section, then, he needs to rein in student drinking.
