55-65 year old dude who peaked in high school, mid level manages a team of people whom you condescend to daily because you believe they’re all worse than you and who in turn loath you. You listen to “conservative talk radio” all day and watch Fox News every night until you fall asleep.
I hit that nail on the head?

i have been remote since 2 years before Covid. may company and managers know i'm responsible and get my work done and then so since then, and allow me to stay remote. they have instituted 1 day a month for folks to go back in - for me they let it be optional.
but then again I am a responsible adult and give them no reason

Because people don’t like to give up a good thing.
I get it but the Covid BS excuses are over.

Why should they if they’re killing it?

If you want to waste year after year in an office then go right ahead. If you want to be an office Rockstar do it. Sounds like an amazing life.
But don't get upset if other people don't want to live your dream.

The 30 year age group actually has families that they like and their families actually like them. But thats something the boomer mind just cant comprehend.
Older millenial here, over 40, love spending time with my wife... when I talk on Teams calls with Gen Xers just a few yrs older than me, they hate their life and families, so sad. I had one ditch his family on a vacation together to go to a stupid work event. This is who pushes to go to the office.

They constantly whine about inflation, whine about working 5 days a week, whine about having to return to the office.
I mean if the economy was really that bad then they would be racing to be the first one at the office and the last one to go home.
It would be easy to separate yourself from this generation of sloths, your competition is the weakest in our countries history...

Read the room bro. You're calling out the very people on this site that are home and don't have what it takes.

You forgot that he probably hates his wife. Or his office job killed his marriage.

It’s mostly boomers. Most coddled generation who put us in the debt hole we’re looking at now.

Why are people stuck in the 90s?
A lot work can be done remotely. If you are in sales for a living, you should never be in the office, yet old folks with blinders want us to meet in person to have pep talks and talk about productivity for an hour (and that's an hour of wasted time).

I don’t like WFH bc it basically means you are available all the time.
Email, phone call use to be sort of an answer during busyness hours deal. Now everyone wants everything all the time.
“He’s off today.” Means nothing. WFH becomes work all the time from everywhere.
Before cell phones, when you were not there, you were off and not available.
Now you are constantly available.
I just retired. I don’t miss work from everywhere and anytime.

It should be based on tenure. If you’ve been with the company for 5 or more years and have proved your worth then I don’t see why you don’t deserve a hybrid schedule or at least 1 day working from home as a token of appreciation.

If companies wanted to really maximize efficiency have their employees return to the office but when they finish their work for the day they can leave. That way those that want to dick around can do so and those motivated to go home bust it and leave early, win win

Why do I need to go to an office when multiple people are currently training their Indian replacement, who will be working in India? I mean if you can do it from India I should be able to do it from around the corner.
