Actually someone said just the opposite.
They linked an article listing all the Businesses requiring masks in Houston and it was under 1%

Call me silly, I understand they don't work, it is a minor inconvenience, but to reduce the interaction with stupid people, I wear one for brief periods
Go along to get along people are the problem. It's Insidious. This is how they move the Overton window. They start small, slippery slope, work their way on down over the years until we have no freedoms left. Every step of the way the new rules for society are normalized. Remember when we thought the TSA and the Patriot Act would go away after a while?
It's boiling the Frog over a generation. People need to take a hard stand on principles and stop doing what's comfortable and convenient, lest tyranny be born without a single shot fired.

You need to stop worry about your stupid rights and start worrying about doing the right thing!
We're all in this together, and being safe is what's most important.

there is no mandate in Texas, so I'm not sure what rights your are referring to here

Austin has been liberal for years, which affects the text books - public schools are pretty good in Texas - so the indoctrination starts early The illegals’ kids are citizens and they vote for people who help the illegals. When I was a kid, there was a trend for a while in the Rio Grande Valley to be Republican bc it meant you were more American (or Anglo) - but that didn’t seem to last long. Not when the Dems help your tía and give you free stuff.
Let’s hope your dumb arse left the great state of Texas for good.

They don't. But most still require a mask so that the scared sheep will be comfortable at their store, because there are people that are somehow still terrified of covid.

Could be immunocompromised like me. Still technically flu season.

I was in Houston Friday-Sunday last weekend. Every place I went required a mask for entry. All restaurants still had limited seating except one Chinese restaurant in Chinatown
I've had a very different experience. I live just south of Houston and work in Houston. Very few places I go require a mask.

Your stupid rights, that's which rights.
Now shut up and do the right thing.

Masks are actually pretty great ways to go on about your day and not be roped into conversations with random people
Then don't talk to them, walk away, or tell them you're busy. How hard is that?

As someone linked in another thread, over 99% of businesses in Houston have no mandate.

I simply listed 762 separate retail companies (some of which have 20+ locations in Houston)are confirmed to have a mask mandate
In no such way did I link anything showing 99% of Houston companies lifted their mask mandates
In fact, I also posted a survey from the Restaurants association showing 70% of Houston restaurants still require masks
Posted on 3/26/21 at 9:31 am to stout
I have heard several people openly say they will continue wearing them no matter what.

Was that the article written weeks ago?
The day the mask mandate was lifted?
The same article that 70% of restaurants are REQUESTING customers to wear masks? Not REQUIRING?
That article?

To me, it's making people I encounter feel more comfortable until vaccine supply passes demand.
Always thought them less than effective, but I deal w older adults daily and am told daily how much our mask mandate means to them.
Come 60-90 days or so, we'll, that's another matter. By then, I'll treat those still clamoring for us to mandate wear as dead enders, not the clear majority of people we serve in person daily.

1. Texas is a massive state with people on both sides of the fence. Your experience in 1 Buccees does not reflect the whole state. If you go to places in rural Texas , people don’t wear them just like in Louisiana. Of course you’ll still see them anywhere close to metro areas.
2. Why do you give a shite that people are still wearing them? Wear yours or don’t and go about your day. I promise you nobody gives a shite about it one way or the other.
It’s common sense by this point that brand name chain places such as buccees or target will require it and locally owned establishments will not require it. How hard is this for people to comprehend?

Every place he went required a mask because he goes to yuppie trendy places and chain stores. Dude was probably at PF Changs and got pissed because they Made him wear a mask.

I ignore the signs. If an employee of a business asks me to put one on, I leave and go elsewhere.

Did anyone tell the gallery at the PGA Golf Tournament in Austin that Texas doesn’t require mask anymore?
Just about every single person in the gallery is wearing a mask
I though Texas was wide open and no one wears a mask anymore?
