Why are there so many more Indians in tech than Chinese?

1Both cultures emphasize STEM education yet you barely see Chinese folks in American tech companies.

Bingo. There are probably more chinese than anyone else in tech, their society is just fairly well cloaked.

The Chinese people I've worked with in IT and software development have mostly worked with databases. You don't need William F. Buckley-level English skills to run a database.

I always laugh when people say this, you are seeing the .01% of a population of over a billion that make it here and assume they are all brilliant neurosurgeons.

Incorrect, the Indians you see here in America represent the top .001% of India.
