It’s just like trimming the hedges, only but with a truck

I still see tons of early 2000s Tacoma’s on the roads. I don’t see many early 2000s Fords or Chevys.

What...?

I still see a shite ton of ‘90s and early 2000 Chevys on the road.... I still see people driving S10s... When’s the last year they made those...? That 90’s Chevy 1500 was the shite...

I finally convinced my wife to trade in her ‘06 Tahoe...

parts are easily available.

One of the easiest vehicles I've ever maintained myself. So easy to work on. The only thing I haven't changed/fixed are the tires. Everything else I've done myself.

You mean you don’t need a full monster truck to cruise down to the McDonalds and the office parking lot?

Two GM trucks had a fuel pump go out in the time it took for you to write this post.

This post can’t be serious. Legitimately all of your points are wrong and wrong to a point where it’s humorous. Stop embarrassing yourself

It’s probably my next car, that or 4Runner

I want a bed for work but I don’t need a full sized truck and I need something I can put 200k on easily

I’m shopping for a used truck now. I was looking at Tacomas but used F150s are easier to find and the prices are a little better.

Currently looking for a F150 2014 or later with less than 100k miles.

Thats just not true at all. Depends on how the vehicle is cared for and maintained.
I got a buddy if mine who has a Ford F350 that has over half a million miles on it and it still runs strong.

Yep, my Ford's transmission is going out now with 81,000 miles on it.

Great reliability. Never missed a maintenence visit.

Great product, Ford...

They’re great trail trucks, and are super fun in a manual. The manual 4x is still cooler than whatever Jeep is about to put out.

This

Just watched a review from edmunds that tested off road versions of the Tacoma, Colorado and the new Ranger. They did off road test, regular driving and ride and interior features. Off road the Tacoma blew away the Colorado and Ranger. Overall they chose the Colorado because it beat the other 2 in all areas except off road. The thing they touched on most was how the Tacoma seemed to be dated a bit. Tacoma is still number in the small truck area because of its strong history of being reliable. The Colorado might get there but it takes years to build up that reputation with solid reliable performance.

The point is, why is a Tacoma about the same price as a F150 or Silverado or Tundra?

Because people are willing to pay it

Yes....hence the OP’s question. Why are people willing to pay so much for a little truck when they can buy a Tundra or whatever?

This is me. Add in I need 4WD for work. I have the longer bed and it's perfect for hauling the size pieces of glass I use at work. My Taco is the perfect vehicle for my needs. I have no need for a full-size and don't need to tow anything.

This thread is funny. I own a Taco and a Subaru Outback - both of which are vehicles the truck baws love to hate on. My wife drives the Outback, but if I didn't need a truck bed I'd drive the Outback. It's a great vehicle. AWD. Plenty of ground clearance. Decent engine performance. Comfortable.

This sounds so idiotic to someone from mountainous regions. And even in the South this hasn't been true for some 15 years. Last winter, I drove on shite in MT with my old forester and regular highway tires w no chains that was sending trucks and suvs into spins, all around me. Most notably a downhill-grade drive off the mountain after it had snowed about a foot during the day.

Subaru being a practical choice in some climates doesn't preclude it from being the official vehicle of lesbians.
