Yep. Go and order chicken in Southeast Asia, and compare it to what you see here. Its less than half the size.

But seriously is that what size steaks yall are eating when you cook at home?

We divide them dummy! And we can make tacos or quesodillas with a portion of what we buy as well.

Steaks are supposed to be thick. When you get a thicker steak it's going to be bigger because they aren't just going to cut a Ribeye in half - it still needs to be an actual correct cut of meat.

6 oz filets or 10 oz strips.
You should easily be able to find this in any grocery store in America - especially the 6oz Filet.

I guess I always figured it was sacrilegious to carve up a steak like that and only eat half of it but we have done that before. I just prefer not to

Seems that’s exactly what people are doing.

And yeah I wish. I can only get those as prepackaged out on the gondolas. At my grocery store the filets are probably 10+ oz at minimum. They’re massive. Same with the out of town place I just went last weekend (Krogers)

Like I said earlier I went to a public first and was shocked to be told they didnt even have a butcher counter. Only prepackaged meats out on the gondolas.

There's more than one way to serve a steak. I can get one or two large steaks to feed two people. Just cut it up to serve it. I do this all the time with Cowboy Ribeyes and large strips.

You fricking clown. Good beef isn't fattening. Now all the sides and sauces pussies like you use, will blow you up.
Also, you buy the strip because you're poor and can't handle the high $, except for your pathetic 6 oz filet (how cute)
This thread is really about you wondering how real man can handle up paying for the larger priced stuff.
Simply put, your the outcast.

It's on the shelves because it sells better than something else, period!

We raise our own cattle and I wonder how the frick briskets get to be 20 lbs like I see in the stores. I would probably hate to see the raising process of these animals.

My favorite cut is ribeye. But I don't eat the fat the surrounds the lean part of the ribeye. I know many people love the fat but I'm a picky eater. The ribeyes are cut pretty big, 16-20 oz. My dogs love me on ribeye night. They get a lot of scraps.

You just got road rage over a message board post about big steaks in a grocery store. Congrats!

No, I’m not seeing 20oz steaks everywhere. Most are 12-16oz.

are the fat asses here acting like that’s a normal portion for steak?

You could eat a 25oz steak every day and not be fat if you stay active and eat clean.
